The Alka-Seltzer Rocket Project
This project puts the experiment in the student's hands and has them consider how common household items can be utilized to create chemical reactions. Societal implications of this project are that students consider how household products can be dangerous items and care should be taken by society as a whole. The applications to society are a connection to rocket science and the basics of propulsion. This has an easy career connection to aerospace science, physics principles, as well as engineering design. This project opens up many new pathways for students to explore their options in the future and it aides in shedding light on chemicals in the real world.
